These extra large flat jaws from PSI are a great addition to a wood lathe chuck. They are compatible with any ‘C’ type chuck such as this PSI lathe chuck set. These jaws can fit pieces up to 8 inches in diameter, and are designed for bowl turning, but can also be put to use in many different types of project. Large jaws are essential if you want to do bowl turning, and are designed to hold your bowl while you finish the bottom.

This chuck jaw includes 8 rubber pins that can be adjusted to four different distance setting to hold pieces of varying size. Reviews are generally very good, but I’ve seen the complaint that the pins are too hard and don’t have enough grip, however this shouldn’t be a problem if the jaws are properly adjusted and tightened.
